2009年以来，分别由洪茂椿院士和吴新涛院士主编的两部英文版学术专著相继在海外出版，这也是福建物构所科研人员为迎接50周年所庆而献上的两份厚礼。其中，洪茂椿主编的《Design and Construction of Coordination Polymers》（配位聚合物的设计与构造），由美国John Wiley &Sons, Inc.出版；吴新涛主编的《Controlled Assembly and Modification of Inorganic Systems》(无机系统中的控制组装与调控), 由德国Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg出版，此书是著名的系列学术丛书《Structure and Bonding》（影响因子：4.041）之一。

两部专著的扉页上都注明献给50年所庆的字样：“Dedicated to Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, Chinese Academy of Sciences, on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.”
