Prof. David W. Lupton, Co-Director and Theme Leader (Organocatalysis) of Monash Catalysis Centre, Member of Royal Australian Chemical Institute, and Member of Royal Society of Chemistry. He obtained his Ph.D. in Australian National University in 2005 under the guidance of Prof. Martin G. Banwell. After that, he had the honor of working with Prof. Barry M. Trost at Stanford University as a postdoctoral associate in the field of organic chemistry. In 2007, he joined department of chemistry at Monash University as lecturer. He was promoted to associate professor of chemistry in 2015, and full professor in 2018. His research program mainly focuses on the discovery of catalytic methodologies that enable the preparation of complex molecular structures. They have activity in the field of organocatalysis, transition metal catalysis and biocatalysis. They have a deep interest in organocatalysis, particularly using Lewis basic catalysis.
